The husband gave her everything except the ability to make her feel safe, sexually desired, and the freedom to express her sexuality. if the husband checked those 3 boxes there would be no drama, they'd be perfectly in love. She would not be in the frequency to attract a man like harley that knows how to exploit her to feed his need for collective revenge against women over the rejection of his first love. Imo it truly wasn't about him missing her birthday, its much deeper than that. When Judith got catcalled on the street, bryce didn't do anything, he ignored it and forgot it even happened later that night. She wanted to feel Bryce's masculinity, what she needed in that moment was for Bryce to stand up for her and show that he's not afraid. Subconsciously if a woman doesn't not feel safe with a man it's impossible to be aroused for him. Climbing up Maslow's hierarchy of needs: need for safety comes before sex. Their love prospered up until they started living together because 1. She felt safe living with her mother up until they started living together 2. sex wasn't part of the equation since before marriage sex was a subconscious barrier imposed by their religion. Bryce just couldn't provide those two needs, so when Harley came along, he satisfied those 2 base needs, evident through him rushing to Judith's defense after the biker hit her, swooping her up and aiding her at his house. When Judith was horny from talking with Harley she went home and wanted Bryce to fuck her voraciously. Bryce just shut her down. She was unable to express her own sexuality. The next morning it was obvious that Bryce just busted a nut and went to bed from the fact that Judith just woke up so early to catch Harley at the park on his run. On the plane ride back Harley knewe exactly what to say to push her sexual buttons. You can just tell from Judith's face that the words coming out of Harley's mouth caused her to be in a state of pure carnal desire. The chemicals and hormones being released in her body and mind were like a drug which made it near impossible for her to resist. Bryce was completely oblivious of his shortcomings up until the end. After he rescued Judith he went back in there to confront Harley. This was needed for him to finally overcome his limits of unleashing his masculine essence. To conclude, both parties were at fault but mainly Judith who should have had communicated her needs explicitly with Bryce especially since shes a certified marriage counselor which is pure irony. There is absolutely no excuse there. And Bryce was too immature as a lover and never received the proper guidance on how to please a woman as the whole movie he was mainly focused on his goals and pleasure. you don't need to be a millionaire, a model, or give beautiful house, say yes to all her requests (in fact you shouldn't), etc to keep a woman. if you don't make her feel safe and turn her out sexually she'll eventually get fed up and find another man to do it

Me and my dad loved the first one so much that we watched this in theaters. We were both so disappointed to how bad it was, it felt like a parody than a sequel lol
